Christine Kerr
President and Grievance officer
Term: 2025-2027

Christine Kerr is an Occasional Teacher and serves as President of the District 18 Occasional Teacher Bargaining Unit. Now in her second term as President, she is committed to strengthening member voice, transparency, and equitable access to work, professional learning, and supports for occasional teachers.
As President, Christine provides leadership to the OTBU executive, represents the bargaining unit in meetings with the District and Provincial OSSTF, and supports advocacy related to collective agreement enforcement, grievances, bargaining, working conditions, and member rights. Her first term included a bargaining round, during which she worked collaboratively with experienced executive members to advance OTBU priorities.
Guided by the Federation’s principle of mutual support and solidarity, Christine prioritizes building connection and community among Occasional Teachers despite the isolating and precarious nature of the work. She values collaboration, clear communication, and informed decision-making, and is committed to building member engagement in the Federation, supporting leadership development and succession, and fostering a union culture grounded in shared responsibility and care for one another.
